Fly South is primarily a trout and salmon fishing company with eight years of experience organizing back-country Argentine tours for the adventurous. We aim to provide a true wilderness experience whilst guaranteeing luxurious accommodation for you to relax in after a hard day on the river or lake.
Argentina, located deep in the Southern Hemisphere, is a fisherman's paradise.
With it's European ancestry, it is a country that is strangely familiar, yet its exoticism defies belief. Once in the wilderness, you can drive for days without seeing a soul. The forests and snow-capped peaks are punctuated by thousands of unexplored rivers and lakes.
From the northern Iberan marshes through the wild and windy plains of Tierra del Fuego, rainbow, brown and brook trout abound, growing to near unimaginable sizes.
At Fly South, we focus on Northern Patagonia, which lies mid-way down this vast and unspoilt country.
In the woods of Nahuel Huapi National Park and the region surrounding the awe-inspiring Lake Kruger and Lake Puelo, we offer our clients access to some of the world’s most remote yet hospitable fishing lodges.
The clarity of the water and the strength and size of the fish are unrivalled anywhere in the world. Whether fishing small dry flies around the margins of the lakes or with streamers in the torrents of the river Limay, you might catch scores of fish ranging between 2lbs and 5lbs.
Still, do not be surprised if a light take results in the fish of a lifetime – the world’s largest brown trout was taken on the Limay, just south of our Patagonian starting point of Bariloche. It weighed over 30lbs.
